This VW T25/T3/Vanagon has come into us for a partial restoration. The underside is pretty rust free so we’re planning on treating with Lanoguard, and spraying all of the cavities with a rust preventative for future protection
At first glance it looked to be fairly rust free, but on closer inspection there was rust coming through on most of the seams around the lower 18″. The only way to deal with it properly was to cut out the lower panels, clean up and/or repair the seams, paint with copper weld through primer and replace the corroded panels.
We also found hidden rust in the wheel wells and sides of the engine bay where the thick underseal had cracked and trapped in water causing quite a lot of corrosion
